Touching Ground
This weekend I once again had my best teacher there to watch my progress. My dad said he wished he could help me with it and I told him when I get lower down on the painting; he is more than welcome to join me. I didn’t want to have my 86 year old father scrambling around on a scaffold! Our school will be lucky to have his expertise added to the painting; he has been a prolific painter up until the last few years and won many awards with his wildlife artwork. If I can coax him back to painting with this wall, it would be a wonderful thing all around.
I finished the clouds on the left of the bump out and blocked in the first land, the first hills in the distance. I have to discipline myself to keep the value light so the background remains in the background; there will be plenty of color when I reach the foreground.
Next painting session should be a nice long one- I hope to complete the right side’s clouds down to the same level as the left. I may even get the eagle added to the painting at this point.
