Bearly there
This weekend I decided to work on the right side of the mural and see if the new idea I had for the slope behind the bear would work. I roughed in a lot of color, but it looks a little misplaced right now. I don't know why it feel natural to paint it like that, but it is making this side a little closer to the viewer than the lake side. I will probably wind up adjusting both of them to unite the image eventually. The bear was too wet at the end of my painting session to put in the amount of detail I wanted to…that will be added next time. It's a little scary going up this slope with no clear image to follow, but exciting too. I found myself rushing to get the foreground in before the background was finished however and I will have to slow down and go back to the way I've painted the mural up till now…from back to front, most distant to nearest. I've been keeping better track of the hours I'm working too. This weekend I painted Saturday and Sunday (my Mother's Day gift to myself!) for a total of 15 hours. I think I will note the accumulated hours on each blog just for fun.
