Cleaning up on the right, moving to the left
This weekend I worked on wrapping up a few areas on the right side by the bear that bothered me. I started from the top and worked down, adjusting colors or adding details I felt were needed. I could feel myself evaluating the “done-ness” of the high work, a prelude to losing my scaffolding soon. Although I may need it again once I start attaching the structure I build to the wall, I really want to be finished with anything on the painting if possible.
Then I adjusted the platform down one level and began to detail the rocks and foliage at the bottom. I hope I have not made it too bright. I scolded myself at the time for adding detail that probably won’t even be seen once the structure is added (as this area will be behind the two large trees), but I would rather have it and not need it instead of trying to add it later. At the end of the weekend I was satisfied with the progress as I not only finished up the right side, but started roughing in the tree on the left, which I have been avoiding since the beginning.
